I have some yellow exclamation marks in my device manager
as follows:
PCI Simple Communications Controller
WAN miniport (PPTP)

Now my CD drive has gone missing, could one of these be
the reason? Please tell me how to fix these annoying lttle
yellow exclamation marks
help will be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED

Reinstall your modem drivers. This shouldn't have affected your cd-rom
drive, but see if things are fixed after reinstalling the drivers and
rebooting.

Those annoying little yellow thingys are letting you know that these
devices have a problem. You must correct them! In most cases it is that
the device drivers are incorrect and must be updated or the correct ones
chosen. Do them one at a time. :-)
