I don't believe this. Work on windows 10 has already begun:

http://blogs.windows.com/bloggingwindows/2014/09/30/announcing-windows-10/

Linux Junkies won't be happy about this.

Why should Linux users be happy about it? Or sad? It's just an operating
system. Why are you bringing Linux up in a Windows newsgroup? What's a
"Linux Junkie"?

Why?

You do know that the features windows 10 are introducing have been available
in linux IE the kde desktop for years.

So it looks like linux have won the OS battle after all. Now that windows is
becoming more linux like. even looks like linux.

Linux... for FREE?!? In WHAT universe? Unless if'n it's one of those "if
you can fix it; you can keep it" deals.

I was having a serious look at Ubuntu... but I'd have to learn a whole
'nuther language/lexicon and I can't find a suitable NNTP or IRC client...
The problem with Peguinheads (AND most open source authors) is that they
cannot talk in simple English terms and they have to program their software
with *so many* redundant bells and switches... and rarely just default to a
reasonable set of settings for a "normal" user... This *MAY* make a few
people seem really "smart" to themselves; but it alienates and isolates the
other 98% - and effectively confines the marketability of their product(s).

I am told that I can run mIRC using Wine...

Oh, that's *really* "helpful"... as if alcoholism didn't solve EVERYTHING.

HTH.
