Cannot connect to Comcast Cable Internet
Comcast and I have tried everything for several days, 3
visits from techs, and a talk-thru setup with a tech yesterday, and have not been able to make my 3Com Office Connect Model #3CR29220 or CM 29220 external, USB connect cable modem work. I'm running Windows XP, and the software that came with the unit isn't compatible with that. HELP!!! |

Cannot connect to Comcast Cable Internet
Hello
Well that is one issue. but did the tech guys have a solution for connecting you to your ISP with using there software and setting it up maunally. Well have you tried contacting Comcast to see what they have to say about it and will support XP if they did not send you the drivers Alvin Carla wrote: Comcast and I have tried everything for several days, 3 visits from techs, and a talk-thru setup with a tech yesterday, and have not been able to make my 3Com Office Connect Model #3CR29220 or CM 29220 external, USB connect cable modem work. Cannot connect to Comcast Cable Internet
Hi Carla
According to the 3COM website www.3com.com (check the archive list not currrent products) that modem 3CR29220 has been discontinued... I'd suspect because of the problems you're experiencing. No updated versions of the software to download. I'm assuming the techs didn't bother to tell you that. If you're leasing then ask for a replacement modem that works with Windows XP. If you recently purchased it, I'd contact the supplier you got it from and hopefully they'll replace it with one that's known to be compatible with XP. If they won't then you may have to put it down to experience and take your custom, and money, elsewhere. sorry I can't be more help Pete ----------------------- "Carla" wrote in message ... Cannot connect to Comcast Cable Internet
Have a feeling he purchased the modem. Or maybe Comcast is different
where he is than they are where I am. The lease modems that Comcast supplies here are RCA Ethernet Modems and NOT USB ones.
