Another question I have regarding MS Windows 8.1 is, how do I do a
synchronize between two folders...one on my computer and one on an
external hard drive. I know I can do a fresh copy of the computer's
folder to the external drive but I would like to just do a simple
synchronize that would bring both folders up to the exact same file
contents.

There are many ways to do this, but I love SyncBack for these kinds of
tasks.

SyncBack Free - freeware version

Thanks, Bill. I may get this and try it out. I was thinking there was
a "built-in" function in MS Windows 8.1 that would do this with no
need to install any new software. Gordon

I think there is one built-in. But I tried just about everything out
there and this one is the best. I don't think you would be sorry.
