Default Remote desktop and sounds

When I use Remote desktop, any sound files played by the remote systems
(such as the Windows Startup sound) are played through my PC speakers.
I'm always impressed by this.

I'm not 100% certain, but it seems to me that the sounds are centred in
the middle of my display. This would be fine if my remote desktop window
were in the middle of my display, but it is not, it is at the extreme
left-hand edge.

It would be nice if the sounds from the remote desktop were moved
left-right according to the placement of the window on the screen. This
shouldn't be too hard to achieve. Getting the vertical component right
might be more difficult though.
