Default On Windows 10 upgrade

Maybe some people will want to keep Windows 8.1 instead of upgrading to
system that we don't know the conditions of use. Some recent software are
offering software subscriptions with payments per month or year, like Office
365 for example. Perhaps Windows 8.1 will be last system we can ever own.

I don't think we even own that one.

If you read the user agreement, I'll bet you find that it says the OS is
licensed, not sold.

You own the license, not the software, and the license comes with
restrictions on use.

Okay, I prefer that way. I can use it as long as 5 years or more without
worring about fees and constant updates.

The key issue is whether it's a one time payment that entitles you to
use it forever if you want to.

I suspect we will be able to get Win10 for the same sort of one time
payment entitling us to perpetual use as we have for all previous
versions of windows.
