Default latest hotfixes...SP2?? / WIndows File Protection

I thought SP2 was in beta? But looking at add/remove programs, I have the
following entries which are all marked as SP2.
Windows XP Hotfix (SP2) [See KB810243 for more information]
Windows XP Hotfix (SP2)Q322011
Windows XP Hotfix (SP2)Q327979
Windows XP Hotfix (SP2)Q814995

I have only ever downloaded recommended updates from Msoft update.

Off to look at KB810243(and maybe the rest) to see what it says but in the
meantime, any info?

The thing that made me look at these was that I have been getting an
intermittent error which started just a few hours after installing the last
recommended update (whatever that was, are they in date order?). The error
is to do with Windows File Protection* suggesting I insert my XP CD so it
can load some system files from that. This doesnt sound like a good idea to
me since I am fully up to date with windows updates so I think it will mean
I have new files from windows update and old ones from the disk (it is an
Sp1 disk).

I do not have a virus or spyware.

I suspect this is an erroneous error message so I'd rather try to fix it
myself before getting an unpleasant mix of old and new files on my system.

*Files that are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by
unrecognized versions

(SP2) means they will be included in SP2.

Those are fixes that have come out since SP1 and are seen as Candidates
for inclusion in SP2. If you install them then a final SP2 will update
them if necessary
