SP2 CD
I have four legal copies of Windows XP, two Home and two Professional.
Whenever I need to reinstall onto a new computer or a repaired system, it is now a two-step process that takes almost three hours: - Perform the reinstall - Apply the patch to SP2 Microsoft Support wants $30 + tax/shipping to send me replacement CDs that have SP2 on them, and before I bite that bullet, I am wondering if there is a more creative solution. Is there any way to create an SP2 CD from the combined components of an original CD and the components of the downloaded patch? Any other solutions or paths to take to resolve this? I imagine this has been a source of discussion for some time, although a Google search did not turn up anything, perhaps owing to my uncertainty over which keywords to use. Thanks in advance for any direction that you can provide... Rick Altman Pleasanton, CA |
