Again, the only public version of Windows Messenger 5 is a leaked beta version -- the
documentation is preliminary and subject to change.

Default MSN Messenger 6?

MSN Messenger is developed by the MSN Product group.

Windows Messenger is developed by the Windows Program group.

This is why they are now two separate products. At one time, they were both
developed be the same people. An early beta of MSN 5.0 upgraded over Windows
Messenger 4.7. Before the beta ended, the program development groups were
split. Now, there are rumored to be three different groups that develop the
two products.
