My drives changed to UDF File System and I want them to be in NTFS how do I get them to chang back I cannot drag and record no more it only see half the capacity of the disks. I've read this several times and it makes no sense. UDF = Universal Disc (though I have seen Data used) Format and is a formatting applied to writeable optical media. NTFS is a formatting applied to fixed disks (i.e. hard drives). Just as formatting a fixed disc in UDF is impossible, thus the reverse is also true - you cannot format a removable disc either NTFS or FAT. Could you please post back and clarify what, exactly, it is you're attempting? For more information on UDF see http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/U/Univ...k_Format.html. |

If you format a CD-RW/DVD-+RW media with Ahead's InCD (Nero) or Roxio's Drag
to Disk(DirectCD), then the media is in UDF format. UDF format is used so that you read/write/rewrite files to the disks. NTFS is a format that is used primarily for hard drives. Well, technically you can use NTFS on Floppy Disks and maybe Flash
drives, but I think those would fit under the same catagory as the harddrive. I just had to post and say hi to Miss P ---- Nathan McNulty Miss Perspicacia Tick wrote: Yves Leclerc wrote: If you format a CD-RW/DVD-+RW media with Ahead's InCD (Nero) or Roxio's Drag to Disk(DirectCD), then the media is in UDF format.
