Do I need this version of .NET Framework?
hi, I am no teckie and appriciate the help. I have Windos XP, SP3 and office
2003. I had to reformat my PC (long story) and because it wiped everything clean, had to install updates via Windows update (SP 3 etc.). There is an option software update of .NET framework v 1.1. I already have 2.0 Service Pack 2, 3.0 Service Pack 2 and 3.5 Service Pack 1. Do I need to install v1.1?? Thanks |

Each version is a different thing and any one may be needed at some time.

The fact that you have later versions is irrelevant. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP - Windows Desktop Experience Please Reply to the Newsgroup |

Do I need this version of .NET Framework?
This probably sums it up for you -
Benefits of the Microsoft .NET Framework http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829019 Note Most of the time, you can use the latest version of the .NET Framework to run applications that were created by using earlier versions of the .NET Framework. So, if you have an application that definitely requires v 1.1, then you'll need to install it. -- TaurArian [MVP] 2005-2009 - Update Services http://taurarian.mvps.org ====================================== Disclaimer: The information has been posted "as is" with no warranties or guarantees and doesn't give any rights.
