I just installed a new Win2000 Pro on HP Pavilion computer from scratch. It
used to have WinXP Home. The only problem I'm having is, when it starts it shows 2 operating systems Win2000 and WinXP on DOS screen and I have to choose the Win2000. I partitioned and formatted it's HDD, WinXP no longer exist. How I can remove it from the DOS screen? |

Go to Start Run and type: MSCONFIG , and hit enter.
Click on the BOOT.INI tab and then click on "Check All Boot Paths" to delete incorrect boot paths. -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows XP - Shell/User Be Smart! It's Win2000 Pro, there's no such command 'msconfig', what it could be for

I can see how Carey got misled: You posted your question
in a WinXP hardware forum, even though it has nothing to do with WinXP or with hardware . . . Use notepad.exe to edit the hidden file c:\boot.ini, then delete the selection lines you do not want, and set the timeout to 0. "Tom" wrote in message ...
