It's the third one in your picture. 1) Check the version info here. Using this, assumes you have an existing version of Flash, and Flash Block isn't blocking it. http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/about/ 2) Try editing the following link, and modify the version value as appropriate. http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flas...ash_player.exe That file will work in Firefox and Seamonkey. I tried to download it but it failed twice. It was working fine yesterday and today it doesn't work. So what's going on and how do I activate it? Check it from below page, at point #5. https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html If the flash animation doesn't play, it could be blocked or interferred by a browser extension (e.g. adblocker, optimizer, speedup, etc.). So, if you have one that may interfere, try disabling it. |

I didn't know that Shockwave Flash and Adobe
Flash player were one and the same. I followed your instructions: I checked the version and it gave me this which is what I have been seeing. https://s26.postimg.org/66uwt28jd/shockwave_flash_1.jpg then it switched to this: https://s26.postimg.org/7boyyfv09/shockwave_flash_2.jpg When I tried to use Tinypic it gave me this: https://s26.postimg.org/9k35fs249/shockwave_flash_4.jpg and JJ's check #5 it shows this: https://s26.postimg.org/f5pkju2t5/shockwave_flash_3.jpg I then followed your link and downloaded version 27.0 but it still isn't working. Should I change the setting of Shockwave Flash to Always activate? Thanks Robert |

I'm not aware of any browser extension so
if there is one I wouldn't know where to look for it. I usually don't mess around with my system or add anything on my own. Robert |

Should I change the setting of Shockwave Flash to Always activate? Thanks Robert In the last picture (recommended by JJ), it says to click activate. Did you try that ? Once the new version was installed, and assuming you were using Firefox, it really should have worked. I thought as a rule, when it installs, it should be activated at that point (as the plugin checker in Firefox knows it is the current version). I think even on a browser here, where I "turn off" Flash on purpose, running the installer EXE for Firefox, turns that one back on again. The act of installation, should be enough to activate it. Other possibilities, are some new policies in Firefox. And I haven't noticed any comments recently about "broken Flash" from people. I assume what you're seeing isn't "normal". Paul |

Should I change the setting of Shockwave Flash to Always activate? The default setting for plugins is "Always activate". According to the screenshot in your initial post, Flash is set to "Ask to Activate". This causes Flash to not automatically run and will require you to click on it if you want it to run. IMO, Flash should be set to "Ask to Activate" when privacy and/or security is a concern, or when the network is slow or limited by a quota. In your latter screenshots, the Flash content shows a "This site uses a plugin that may slow Firefox". This is simply an additional message due to the above "Ask to Activate" plugin setting. That message is not present on Firefox v54, but present in v55.0.3 (and probably since v55). |

You and JJ are both correct. I went back and
changed it to 'always activate' and Adobe flash player now functions again. However, it now shows all of the plugins activated. https://s26.postimg.org/d0wspboq1/always_activate.jpg Should I change the Open H264 and Widevine content to never activate or leave it as is? Robert |
