You ask the difference between 'etiquette' and 'reality'.

Can you talk about other stuff except hardware?
Well, sure. Etiquette might say you should try a newsgroup better suited to
your topic, but if you want to post about your chronic foot pain here - go
for it.

Will "Microsoft" (as if they are some single entity) know about the posts
you put here?
Uhm - some people from Microsoft might. Caring and knowing - two different
things.

Sure let's start with the moronic FW who deliberately posts in HTML and post
dates. You have been told Hades knows how many times to *FIX YOUR
CALENDAR*, but you have failed to do so. Microsoft can - and very often do -
ban deliberate - and persistent - post-daters.

Posting about, for example, why Outlook Express won't allow access to
attachments obviously has nothing to do with hardware. If you post off
topic, expect to get ignored or harangued by the user community that
habitates the newsgroup.

Posting in HTML format is usually considered a wrong format. Many users
will have already configured their newsreader client to read in
plain-text to avoid the fluff of HTML since it is rarely required,
resulting in the HTML version of post appearing as an attachment to it.
Many participants will not bother to open the HTML attachment and may,
as a matter of security, never open any attachments. So don't waste
HTML in posts where that formatting is extraneous fluff that is ignored,
considered hazardous, or simply wastes more space in your posts for a
plain-text copy and a duplicated HTML copy. In OE, you can select which
format to use for e-mail and for newsgroups, and they can be different.
Configure for plain-text for newsgroups, please.

Also, the signature delimiter of "-- " means everything below it is your
signature. Newsreaders may strip off signatures since often it is
egocentric fluff, may contain links, and everything under it may get
stripped out in a reply to your post (which would then also include your
message). Basically you posted your question as part of your signature.
Since you are using Outlook Express, and since you obviously recorded a
signature which is also configured to get added to every message, you
wrongly added your message *after* (and within) your signature instead
of before it.

Your language is inappropriate.

1) It's not 1990 anymore. There are no *rules* against posting in HTML, if
you want your plain text, then that's *your* problem. If you don't like it,
*ask* him not to post in HTML.

2) How many Hades times has he post dated? Twice. Annoying yes, but maybe
if your posts didn't start by calling him an FW, he might actually continue
reading your post and change his clock.

First, what is a FW? Second, he has post dated 3 times and about topics
that don't have anything to do with this NG. He has spammed this
newsgroup about something he supposedly made (like anyone would buy it
anyways). He just needs to be banned if he can't follow the guidelines.

A FW is a f**kwit. It's a term the MPT uses often.

If Zachary D. Wilson can not follow the rules by postdating and spamming,
then he should be banned.

If MPT can not follow the rules by swearing and insulting other users
(deserving or innocent), then she should be banned.

You don't actually thing that swearing at the guy is going to make him stop?
Do you? There is no justification for it, and it is rude to the other users
here that read MPT's profane posts.

Ignore it, Nathan. Pot. Kettle. Paulie here has been banned from the groups
at least once himself. I have had his Hotmail account terminated twice
because he sent me a barrage of viruses and abusive emails. He is about 14
and only posts here because he's procrastinating.

Hotmail's T&C state that if you are banned from Hotmail you stay banned.
They lie. Nevermind, he's back in the bozo-bin.

Paul I think I hear your mother calling you. Don't you have something to do,
like tidying your bedroom, or washing the car? Or your homework.

If you're going to accuse someone of something, at least get your facts
straight. I have never once used an obscenity anywhere in these groups.

Back in the bozo-bin with you.
