A program called "Folder Lock" has some decent reviews. It is $35 dollars
and located he

I've never used it but I've read good things about it and there is a trial.

Is there any reason why you don't use the bits and pieces of the embedded
security to either enable or disable access to your private content?

You can always crunch them:

Either way, best of luck.

Ahhh .... thank you very much!!!!

I have hid/unhid and stopped sharing certain folders. That's about as much
as I know how to do. My entire family shares the same login id and passswd
as i dont really care to create different profiles. I'd much rather take
certain folders and protect them.

If that's the case the crunching them should do the trick. Using the same PC
with other people can be a bit of a pain but you should all really consider
creating your own accounts. Other than that, if that's still not an option,
then I guess using encryption should be your chosen method.
