IE8 installation uninstalls print drivers attached to print server
(cross-post added to XP Printing)
"PilotMP" wrote in message ... I am using Win XP SP3. -- Pilot MP "PilotMP" wrote: I have a Trendnet print server which is a stand-alone device that has 2 USB ports and 1 LPT port. I have 1 USB and 1 LPT printer attached to this device. After installing IE8 both printers quit working. They are listed in my Printers & Faxes window, and the LPT printer is set to my default, yet when I try to print through any application...including IE8 I get a message indicating that I don't have any printers installed. However, I can print using a USB printer I have plugged directly into my computer. The working printer is not associated with the other two attached to the print server, which aren't working. I have not yet tried to re-install the device drivers or the print server software, so I don't know if this will resolve the issue. It would be nice to be able to install IE8 on my other 4 machines without having this issue. What solution do you have to offer?
