I cannot hold the colors on monitor. I set them on Display at 800 x 600 and
16 bit. Fine, but next time I look it has slipped back to 8 bit and colors
all mixed up. I have Windows XP, Dell 8100. How can I colors I select. I
had a customized desktop (with photo) but switched back to XP theme to see
if it would help. Not much.
Thanks for any help.

1. Reinstall/update your video card drivers. Get them from Dell's tech
support website for your specific model machine and video card. Or you can
use the Dell Resource CD that came with your computer - it will have the
video drivers.

2. If that doesn't work, then the video card is probably failing and should
be replaced. If the machine is still under warranty, call Dell tech
support.
