hp laserjet 1000

I have had trouble with this printer since the
beginning. It would work at 11pm and then not be working
at 6am the next day. I have occassionally been able to
delete then reinstall. That isn't working anymore. The
printer shows as installed and documents will be qued up
but will not print. HELP
