Want Outlook, not Messenger!
Boy am I confused. All going well w/Outlook till I did MS
updates today. My Outlook still works fine but every time I log onto internet I get a message asking me if I want to update Windows Messenger. I keep saying NO. Now it is trying to download by itself. Almost didn't notice it in time to cancel it. In plain jane words, how do I get rid of this pest and just stay with Outlook Express? Messenger icon at bottom says not signed in. When I tried hitting "exit" it said I would cause problems to IE or Outlook if I exit it. HELP PLEASE!! |

Want Outlook, not Messenger!
Greetings Suzanne,
Firstly, close Outlook Express, then download and run this .reg file: http://messenger.jonathankay.com/dow...ssenger_oe.reg This will prevent Outlook Express from attaching to Messenger. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "Suzanne" wrote in message ... Sry jon, I think I clicked the wrong button. I sent to you instead of
replying to existing group. I was asking, if the 'tweak' also applies to Windows 2000 Pro ? Thank you |
