System Restore Incomplete, Shutting Down Problem
I have 2 problems :
1. I have recently installed a USB Modem for my Broadband mobile connection (plug & play). What happens is after using the modem, I am unable to shut down the computer in the normal way (I have to press the on/off button). Even after I have disconnected and safely remove the hardware, for some reasons the modem light is still blinking as if there is still connection. A couple of times, the computer indicated that the hardware is in my F drive, when there is none attached at all... When I do not use the modem, my computer functions normally. I have tried using the modem elsewhere and it works fine. 2. My computer' system restore is not working. How do I fix that? |

1. If your modem has an ethernet connection use that instead of USB, it's
far more stable. 2. Try disabling system restore, reboot and re-enable it and see if it works. -- Crosspost, do not multipost http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 "Eyemhear" wrote in message ... System Restore Incomplete, Shutting Down Problem
I only have USB as internet connection. I have done several system restore
(after reading earlier posts), but the problem is still there. I am trying to avoid reformatting my computer, because there are lots of stuff that need to be backed up. Thanks, David. If you don't, you'll regret it sooner or later. I've been there, and I'm sure many others here have too, and it's not fun. |
