How to change default user information
You can create a new user account from Control Panel. If
you delete the old account, the My Computer files for the old account will be deleted so exercise caution (don't do it unless you are 100% sure you won't need the files). Then you can go to Start, Run and type: control userpasswords2 and set the new account to be the default account, supplying the password, etc. Good Luck ! -----Original Message----- I have "inherited" a computer from from older sister and would like to change the default user name for Windows. For instance, when I try to change the My Documents folders from her name to mine, I get a message indicating that I cannot change a Windows operating file name. I am assuming that this has something to do with the original name that was entered when Windows XP was setup. I would appretiate any help on this issue. thnaks . |
