Default Compression Utilities...XP and Pentium4. 3Ghz.

I can't imagine so. To the operating system as well as
the cpu, there's really very little difference between
compression software and an office software that is
running some intensive operation. I imagine such a rumor
may have been started by someone who just had an unstable
system since compression utilities do cause windows to
use 100% of the cpu power and probably work pretty hard
with ram too.

Greetings. Does anyone know if there is any truth in a
rumour we have going around down this way that Windows

XP
(HOME) and a Pentium 4 3.0Ghz with front side bus has a
problem with compression Utilties.. eg..Winzip.
Any advice is truly welcome as I am in the process of
buying the above.
