Some useless ranting
For a couple of days, the file worked perfectly on whatever player.
One day I noticed, however, that Windows Media Player wouldn't start playing the file and complained that it couldn't _find_ it, which I find an incomprehensible reason, as the clip was on my hard disk in a specific location. I tried to play the file with the DivX Player, which worked except that I couldn't hear any sound. I checked the file with GSpot to notice that the DVD_LPCM_AUDIO codec had not been installed. This is impossible because the file indeed did work very well before, and I had not touched any codec or the file itself in between. I downloaded and installed some codec packs, and now, according to GSpot, the correct audio codec is installed. However, I still can't hear any sound on the clip. This isn't because I've forgotten to turn the volume up or anything. It seems to me that pictures and audio files don't cause much problems these days, but video is still a pain where the sun doesn't shine. |
