Default "Network Connections" list of connections empty???

Something happened to my XP Pro system that has caused my
list of network connections to be empty.

This is causing me a great deal of grief, as it has my
dial-up and VPN connections that until now, use all the
time.

My connections still exist, because if I try to create one
with the same name as one I know exists, it says that
their is already a connection with that name.

Help!!!!!

See if this applies:

You Cannot Create a Network Connection After You Restore Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;329441

Otherwise we'll need more details.
