Default "Network Cable Unplugged"

I have two XP Pro machines. My new one has two intigrated network
cards. One is connected to my cable modem and the other is connected
with a crossover cable to my old computer. I have about 40GBs of info
on the old computer i want to transfer over and i thought networking
them together would be a lot easier then taking the hard drive out and
putting it in the new comp.

So i run the network wiz on both machines and it seems like everything
is ok but as soon as i start transfering files from the old to the new
i get this error from the task bar "Network Cable Unplugged"

obviously it is plugged in because i just transfered a few files over.

it seems to jump in and out of being connected. It is very frustrating
and all i want to do is get files transfered and then give the old
computer to my mom.

help!!!

thanks in advance,
randy

Please see this Microsoft Knowledge Base article. It specifically
refers to the Microsoft MN130 PCI adapter, but the problem and the
solution might apply to any network card:

Seemingly Random Intervals

Downloading and installing the latest XP-compatible driver for you
network cards might help, too.
