Default "network path not found". Help.

I'm trying to set up a parallel direct cable connection
XP guest to W98 host. The connection is made. Now I
want to Map the Network Drive.
In the Drive letter choice I've selected Z.
In the Folder box I've typed "\\host computer's
name\C".
It looks right to me, but XP is never able to find that
target. Spelling is doubble checked.

Any suggestions out there?
