Default open explorer window soooooo slow

Hi

If I open a explorer window to attach a file or to go
down a dir-structure, this can take up to two minutes!
What is wrong?

Many thanks!!

It worked slowly with me at one time, let me see if I can remember why...
If I remember, I either had active desktop enabled (always leave it
disabled), or there was something in the options that I ckecked by mistake
that made IE always check the web when it first opened that slowed it down
on start up.

Ok, just looked. Click tools, folder options, then view. The very first
box saying Automatically search for network folders and printers I think was
what was giving me the problem. Make sure there is no checkmark in that
box. Also, the fourth one down saying Display the contents of system
folders, uncheck that one also.
