Default XP re-installation

My hard drive died.

I had Windows XP and Linux installed.

I have the BOUGHT and PAID for installation disk for XP.

When I tried to re-install it, it said it was shutting down to protect my computer.

What the hell is going on ?

I have two partitions, an ext3 one and a fat 32 one.

Many thanks for any positive responses. :-)

Andy
