Nvidia drivers
-----Original Message----- Have you tried removing all the Nvidia software in=20 the "Add/Remove"=20 program function in control Panel, then going to device=20 manager and=20 removing the video card, rebooting in standard VGA mode,=20 letting Windows=20 find the video card and installing the driver you want? This damned XP finds Nvidia driver, firstly after=20 rebooting with all this You mention done it tells me=20 about finding standard VGA driver and then in a few=20 seconds, installs the nvidia driver- but where an earth=20 does it come from? Because this CleanReg doesn=B4t find any=20 nv-files. Sould I look for files named something else?=20 And in that instance, what? =20 I asked because=20 I removed a pny GF2 MX400 and installed a pny GF4 TI4200=20 8x last week=20 and updated the driver .. I'll be repeating the process this afternoon by swapping=20 the ti4200 8x=20 and ti4200 4x between PCs Tyronne Thank You Tyronne Timo Heikkil=E4 wrote: hi, I=B4m just about getting desperate in trying to uninstall=20 NVIDIA Geforce4 Ti4200 version 2.9.5.8 - it just keeps=20 on=20 coming back. I have uninstalled it in every possible=20 way=20 also in safe mode and using cleanreg- through device=20 manager and other means, but no joy. And when one tries to update the driver, the installer=20 warns about the old drivers and -with good reason- as I=20 have also learned, suggests to uninstall them.=20 But the question is- How? How to make a clean=20 installation for example with version 40.72 which is=20 digitally certified. (I have downloaded different=20 versions the latest one being 43.45) Timo Heikkil=E4 . |
