Default why is my computer so slow

The new updates slow down my computer too!

Default why is my computer so slow

Remove Update 811493; it is known to slow some systems. Go to Control
PanelAdd/Remove Programs and scroll down till you se Q811493; Right click
and delete it.

as footnote to all this, if when you remove or attempt to remove 811493,
please respond to the group if it causes a error with ntoskrnl....I removed
it according to in the above mentioned fashion (through control), and in the
end had to do a reformat and reinstall of xp...I cant be the only one who
has had this issue (at least i hope not).

I had no problems when I removed it using the method I gave. However, if
one has a restore point from before the install, that is an option also.
