Default Blocked Port

I decided to cross post because of the type of problem. Hopefully this is
not a fox paws, as I know I found the problem particularly vexing. Thanks to
Majiks efforts and suggestions on microsoft.public.arabic.outlookexpress I
finally got back the ability to send and reply. For those of you that missed
my question. While traveling, I was unable to send or reply to email nor
could I reply to NG posts It turns out that Cox Cable Systems does block
port 25. The work around is to change the SMTP to reflect theirs. In this
case, all I had to do was go to any of the accounts I wanted to send mail
from and under server, change my SMTP from smtp.starband.net to read
smtp.west.cox.net. It does nothing to change any information to people
receiving the mail, but makes it possible to send as usual.
I am assuming that this will apply regardless of what system we encounter in
our travels. IE: changing the SMTP to the local one. Hopefully this
information will help others that encounter similar problems.
