No pst file with Outlook Express
Sito wrote:
I wanted to move a Outlook express account from my old machine to a new one. The new one contains Outlook and Outlook express. OL and OE are both mail clients but they are very different from each other described in many places such as askleo. OL is a MAPI client, OE is not. https://askleo.com/how_do_outlook_ou...kcom_rela te/ How do Outlook, Outlook Express, and Outlook.com relate? You will have to configure XP to have only one of them for your default mail client on a system which has both. If I creat an account on it it creates an .PST file. A .pst is used by systems with OL; systems with only OE don't need a ..pst file. The .pst is used by windows messaging, MS exchange, & OL. Not OE. How do you plan to use OE and OL on the new system? OE is a popular way to use newsgroups as you have posted here. If you 'need' OL for some particular mail server, then you might use both. MS has its own explanation for how to handle the dilemma of having both OL and OE installed in kb2419492. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2419492 -"If you have both Outlook and Outlook Express installed, you will have to choose one or the other for the default client for e-mail, newsgroups and contact list." -- Mike Easter |
