Default Computer keeps restarting

If you can't gain control of the restarting, you should probably consider
rebuilding the system.

I tried that, and it seemed to work, my computer stayed on a couple minutes
longer than usual, then it restarted again! Thanks anyways! Another
problem
is it says my firewall and virus protection are off, and when i go to
check
them it says they're on, but only sometimes. I try turning it on when its
off, and it won't work, it says something about a computer problem not
allowing it to enable. I am the administrator of the computer, so I don't
know why it won't work. If anyone can help it would be greatly
appreciated!

go to start/run, and type:
shutdown /A

This will stop the restarting, and let you read the error message (blue
screen text), which Might include a filename that would give you a hint
about what software or hardware was causing the restart.

My computer has the same problem. It keeps restarting itself, sometimes
before it even loads. I get error reports, and when I send them a new
webpage
opens saying something about the error report being corrupted due to a
serious problem with my hardware. The steps say to go to remove any new
programs I've installed, but not only will the add/remove programs
thing
not
load, but I haven't even added anything new to my computer for at least
6
months now! And by the time I try to get through reading the whole
instructions on fixing the problem, my computer restarts again. I am
writing
this message on a laptop. Please help ! Thank you !

Hi Jim

Any error messages to work with?

If you don't see any error messages, right click on My Computer,
select
Properties and then the Advanced tab. Click on Settings under Startup
and
Recovery and disable 'Automatically restart'. Next time your PC
reboots,
you should see a Blue Screen. Could you please post the Stop Code
from
the
BSOD?

Also, please have a look in the Event Viewer to see if any entries
there
may
refer to the problem.

My Computer keeps re-starting itself. This usually happens after
about
being
on for 2 and 1/2 hours. I have the power settings at always on.
