Default Default sounds

I hate the noise my home PC makes when it starts up - it reminds me too much
of work! Is it possible to get any new sounds from Microsoft that will make
my computer sound a bit less 'standard'?

I'd probably like to do the same thing to the wallpaper but I don't want
some amateur looking stuff.

Help!

Hi

If you go to Sounds and Audio DevicesSounds tab, you use other files apart
from the MS default ones by clicking on 'Browse'.

Go to Control Panel | Sounds and Audio Devices, and on the Sounds
tab, choose any available sound. While there, you can also
customize other sounds besides the startup sound.

By the way, Windows comes with a bunch of sounds you can choose
for these events, but there are hundreds or thousands of other
..wav files available for downloading on the internet, and any of
these can be used too.

Thanks for the advice guys. The page Johny suggested sounds good but appears
to be no longer there. Where can I find these old schemes?
