And here it comes AGAIN! This time, you have NO choice but to "accept
it", if you allow this CRAPWARE to exist on your computer.

Several means exist to get rid of the Win-10-nic "up"grade nag, starting
with the uninstall of KB3035583, and possible 'never10' or 'gwx control
panel, or maybe just this registry edit:

(as reported in comments)

[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUp date]
"DisableOSUpgrade"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Win dows\GWX]
"DisableGWX"=dword:00000001

[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Win dowsUpdate\OSUpgrade]
"ReservationsAllowed"=dword:00000000

I don't know if the above will work, but it can't hurt.

as for me, I'm not running 'windows update' on any 7 box until after 8/1
and will simply NOT web surf on those machines [nor read non-plain-text
e-mails].

and for that *IDIOT* that posts to USENET in HTML, I won't read HTML in
USENET, either.

*you know what you can do, right? You're an intelligent person so do
what an intelligent person would or can do.

HTML is what you'll get. Like it or not. In big letters so it gets you
most.*

The above two do nothing and are not relevant if 3035583 is not
installed...just more registry orphans.

Your point being what exactly?

We know it's quite a challenge to stop 3035583 installing unless you're
also prepared to manually install security updates.

In a round-about way, Winston is saying that

DisableOSUpgrade

is all-important!

It's also important to check it once in a while.
This is why GWX_Stopper has a monitoring option.
