Default msn messenger error "1612"

When I try to upgrade MSn MEssenger I get an "MSN messenger setup failed
with error code '1612'. Please go to MSN messenger website to download..."

WHen I go to doenload it from the website and try to install it I get the
following error message: "The installation source for this product is not
available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it". I get
the same message if I try to uninstall it from Control Panel
install/uninstall. Any ideas?
