"Hybrid sleep is a combination of sleep and hibernate", and if one bears in mind that sleep includes having RAM full and ready to go, and the ability to "quicly resume your work", hibernate doesn't have sleep combined with it. It's just plain hibernate. To me it sounded like you were saying the same things happened in hibernate and in hybrid sleep. Not so. But even if you were not saying the "same", I don't think it's fair to say that in hibernate mode, it passes or has passed through sleep mode. It copies the RAM to the harddrive, sets a flag so they OS no it hibernated, and then it turns off. That's not sleep mode, and battery usage doesn't just "drop off". It ends, except for whatever it takes to be able to Wake by Lan or Phone. Maybe you consider that nit-picking. OTOH, in hybrid sleep after it backs up the RAM battery usage to keep the data in RAM may drop off, if it takes less to keep it there than to read RAM and write RAM. And perhaps your point was only that battery usage ends or drops off as the case may be. If that's it and no one else misunderstood, that's good. That's how I've always looked at it.
