Yes. Right click its shortcut, the choose Properties. You can assign a
key to its shortcut there.

Thanks, there is such a field in 'Properties' but I cannot enter
anything into it.

You don't type into that field, strictly speaking. What I do is click once
to put the focus there, (not sure if that's even necessary), then press the
key combo that you want to use to launch that application. The field
contents should change to reflect the keys that you pressed. Ctrl, Alt,
and/or Shift are commonly included in the combo, coupled with some letter
that makes sense to you.

By the way, I used to do this, but no longer do. I have too much
trouble remembering the shortcut keys I created. I find it much easier
to click an icon I can see and identify.

I agree, actually. The only one I still use is Ctrl-F11 to bring up the
calculator. I use that one several times a day so there's little chance of
forgetting it.

Thanks; I get it, but that field just selects from some select group.
If I want to move around by say two quick space-bar pressings, how is
this done?

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what any of that means. You can try again, or
perhaps someone else knows what you're referring to.
