Default LSX_MPEG Player problems

My Explorer crashes when trying to load MPEG thumbnails, giving me the Data
Execution Prevention popup. This seems to happen with all (or almost all)
MOEG files. The closest I've come to identifying the problem was when I did
something with an effected MPEG, I forget what, and got an error report
message that sent me to the microsoft site, though all it said was the
following:

Problem caused by LSX_MPEG Player

This problem was caused by LSX_MPEG Player. LSX_MPEG Player was created by
Ligos Corporation.

Microsoft has been unable to contact the manufacturer and has no further
information available at this time.

Recommendation

For more information about LSX_MPEG Player, go online to the Ligos
Corporation website:

Ligos Corporation

If you are unable to fix this problem and continue to receive errors, you
can also remove LSX_MPEG Player.

How do I uninstall a program in Windows XP?

Before you say anything, I tried system restore, as I have for several other
problems in the past. I always get a message when the computer restarts to
the effect of "Cannot restore to this restore point. No changes were made to
your system", or something like that, so System Restore doesn't work
