Mozilla has put the tabs back on top again where they are not useful Is there any way to put them back where they are supposes to be on the bottom. I have it working in 64. Have not tried it in 65. Let me know and if you want the code and I will place it up on vpaste. It is 238 line long. You create a "chrome" directory in your profile and drop it there. |

Because you *must* install it properly. 1) First navigate to your profile DIR. Easiest way is to enter 'about:support' in URL box and from the page under "Profile Folder" click "Open Folder" 2) Create a folder if it does not exist, (it probably won't), and name it chrome. 3) Put file userChrome-tabs_on_bottom_Fx65.css in that folder. 4) Rename the file to 'userChrome.css' 5) Restart Firefox and enjoy! Done that several times and all failed. You must have made an error on one of the steps. Here is what it looks like when done correctly: http://www.littleworksstudio.com/temp/usenet/firefox-tabs I played around with the file and was able to put the Personal Bookmarks Bar at the very top...it was strange. -- Take care, Jonathan ------------------- LITTLE WORKS STUDIO http://www.LittleWorksStudio.com |

Rene If you want to colour any folders that you may have on the bookmarks toolbar, copy and paste the following lines between Begin and End to the bottom of your userChrome.css file. Do not copy Begin------ and End--------- lines. The folders are set to gold colour. You can change the fill: number for different colours. Begin------- /* Colored folders for bookmark sidebar, toolbar, menu button */ /* Standard folder */ #bookmarks-view treechildren::-moz-tree-image(container), #PlacesToolbarItems toolbarbutton[container="true"] ..toolbarbutton-icon, #PlacesToolbarItems menu[container="true"] .menu-iconic-left, #BMB_bookmarksPopup menu[container="true"] .menu-iconic-icon { fill: #e8bb00 !important; /* slightly muted gold */ } End------- -- mick |

Keith, if you're still not having any luck, tell us step by step what you're doing and maybe someone can help. I suspect either he did not create the chrome directory, or more likely did not correctly rename the file to userChrome.css. If he has that stupid MS default of Hide extensions for known type enabled he may be renaming it userChrome.css.css -- Take care, Jonathan ------------------- LITTLE WORKS STUDIO http://www.LittleWorksStudio.com |

If you rolled back to v64, then the new fix won't work, just like the old fix won't work with pre-v65, so make sure you're using the right userChrome.css with the right Firefox version. |

I said that wrong, but hopefully you figured out what I was trying to say. Firefox versions 57 to 64 had a 'tabs on bottom' fix. Firefox version 65 has a 'tabs on bottom' fix. Those two fixes both involve userChrome.css, but the actual contents of that file are different and not interchangeable between the two fixes. |
