Default can't get an anti virus in freshly reset DELL ibspiron

Hi,

I have a new DELL Inspiron.

While trying to set it up, I must have made a mistake.

I Accidentally made some files hidden, I was unable to do this
mistake.

So I flattened the system (called resetting the system and
reinstalling windows).

The flattening gave me an inexpertly result. I die not have to
reactivate windows nor was my niame removed.

Now I cannot install an anti virus. I've try Avast (preferred), AVG
and ESET. All time out without any success.

I just successfully download from Sourge Forge and successfully
installed it.

Awaiiting a response AND I will be glad to supply more information.

Why would you be downloading from SourceForge ?

This is an example of an AVG URL.

http://files-download.avg.com/inst/m...e_x64_1818.exe

You can also go here and there is a download for Windows 10.

https://www.avg.com/en-us/windows-10-antivirus

Apparently the number on the end of the download, indicates
what OS or OSes it is intended for.

*******

If "your name was preserved", that sounds like a refresh
rather than a reset. If you damaged some system files,
maybe the refresh isn't enough to fix it. It would depend on
whether the files were related to the profile somehow (a part
a refresh would not touch), or the files were located somewhere
else.

If you reinstall the OS completely, the first boot, the OS
shows up in "sealed" state. And you enter your name and password
and set up an account on it and so on. You would also have
to reinstall programs though. And you would likely want to
store the installers for those programs, some place safe.

Please ask your question on DELL support Forums. You say you have a new
DELL Inspiron so it should still be under a warranty so they should be
able to fix this problem for you.

You intelligence is very low (apart from being a known troll &
Nym-Shifter) so we can't help you here.
