Default Remember my password checkbox

I have XP home installed in a small peer to peer network.
When connecting to a shared drive, it asks for a username
and password, but there is no "Remember my password"
checkbox. Does anyone know what could be done? I want
this to be there!

Create an account for that user on the computer which has the resources
to be shared. It's trying to authenticate the request from an "unknown"
source.
