Canon Canoscan or Epson V-series pro-sumer

OP: I was looking for a scanner that had an automated feed, that could
scan more than a couple of slides/per run.

The above two scanners look like you add several slides to the scanner
and then manually add a not bunch of slides.

This is similar to the Vupoint slide and film converter (FC-C520) I
currently have. It does a good job, but you can only stage three slides
at a time for copying. With a dozen Bell&Howell slide cubes trays it
will take for ever to copy them.

This may be waht you're looking for:

Pricey, though. Time vs dollars: where does your break-point lie?

:-)

It has yet to be determined. I would really like to have the slides
copied, but $800 or about 10 cents per slide for a little less that 8000
slides.

or at 50 slides/hr 160 hours of scanning time.

In the past three days I've spent 30 hours scanning old negatives.

My uncle's estate left me a box of negatives from 1935 - 1955 and my

work while scanning etc

What are you using to scan the negatives.Â*Â* It sounds like you have
quite a few to scan as I have.Â*Â* Doing it three at a time as my stand
alone scanner does takes for ever.

If it is an automatic scanner what is the brand and model.

Thank you.

Mine is an Epson V600 and it was only $225 or so.

snip

I bought the same Epson V600 in July, for same price, but still haven't
unboxed it. I have thousands of prints going back to the 1920's, and
slides, and I'd like to digitize some of them. I've put this on the
backburner because it's a big job, and becauase I'm not all that literate
when it comes to scanning for best quality. Still have to decide which
machine to hook it up to, Win7 or Win10. Either way, I've got to do some
rearranging.
