I know about the "netplawz" bit to avoid sign-in
in Windows 10. But, if a person has initially given a sign-in name
and password, but wants now to avoid the process, is there a way ?

Just Google "Windows 10 automatic login".

OK, I did that, and I ended up here. Now what ?

http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-au...in-windows-10/

You can use the same netplwiz interface to remove an automatic login.

And...

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sys...oads/autologon

"if the shift key is held down before the system performs an autologon,
the autologon will be disabled for that logon"

So I don't have to worry about logins, I have found they can be avoided
by adding a nul string for the password.

If you have entered a password and want to remove it go to Change
password delete the old one and hit enter again with a nul string.

I have all of my computers set up this way and have never fussed with
password. I don't know if you could do this with the MS store login as
I have never tried it.

I expect it's always the current year. I'd better off if I wasn't that
familiar with serial procrastination. I know someone who needed to see a
doctor more than 8 years ago and still needs to do so (it's ALWAYS "not
right now").

As to the sig, I would automate the updating, like I do with the
countdown sigs I use in the fall.
