Does anybody know how to get XP to recognize my
integrated sound card after a re-install of XP?

Thanks,

Greetings --

Have you installed the sound drivers provided by the PC's
manufacturer?

I have an integrated sound card and don't have the
documentation for it. Do you know how I can check the
manufacturer?

Thanks for the feedback Bruce!

Yes, Ngerrie, there is a way. No need to tear apart your system in vain.

After reinstall of XP you must reinstall sound driver.
You'll have to do some searching, but the driver is likely available on
one of the CD's that came with your PC. 1st, read the documentation for
the PC. Click Start/Run, enter Dxdiag/Sound tab, see if it tells you
anything. Also, Click Start/All Programs/Accessories/System
Tools/System Info/Components/Sound Device. Next, using Windows
Explorer, manually search the CD's provided (look for Drivers folder).
