Fax problems
Your modem is designed that way. It cannot distinguish between a real
caller and a fax machine when the phone rings. If it rings, it will do its job and take the call. You probably want to look at a) getting a separate dedicated line for fax or b) getting something like Catch a Call (www.catchacall.com) which will sit between phone socket and hardware (phone and fax) and send each to the right destination -- Cari (MS-MVP Windows Client - Printing, Imaging & Hardware) www.coribright.com "joe" wrote in message ... Or reconfigure XP fax to manual answer faxes if you don't get many faxes.
