I'm trying to run a program, but it won'r open. what do i do?

What program? Any error messages? Read the manual. Post a
useful question with details.

Default opening a program

Jim is right - it depends on the program. You might get a
clue from the application event log, though. Try to open
the program, then right-click "My Computer" and
select "manage". Click the "+" beside Event Viewer and
select "application."
