I see no 8192EU. Maybe I am blind. I have been told so. Me I think you're blind on another count. You may have the identifier wrong ? Maybe it's not 8192EU ? As I think I said before, when I plug the little WFIF USB adapter in, Device Manager shows Realtek RTLK 8192EU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter In the list here, I can see lots of 8192 devices, but no 8192EU. That's why I have my suspicions... I think something is awry here. http://www.linux-usb.org/usb.ids And don't let the "linux" in that link bother you. The list is a list of unofficial VID/PID values for hardware, which applies to any OS attempting to do Plug and Play identification of hardware. The official lists are not public knowledge, because some devices are not released yet, and so the identifiers cannot be officially displayed. And thus the people out here have to rely on unofficial lists at a time like this. Not *every* hardware is in that list, but the lack of a 8192EU on that list, and a lack of a 8192EU on the actual RealTek site, makes me suspicious. What can I say? Even if you were to give us a web link to where you bought the device, that might not help. Because hardware makers sometimes change the chipset inside the device, without changing the product SKU (Stock Keeping Unit number). I bought it on EBay. Paul |

I think I need to repeat that The adapter works okay on this W7 PC (the one that shows what I say in Device Manager). OTOH, when I plug the thing in to USB on the other W7 PC, Device Manager does not pick it up under Adapters. Instead it is unidentified. Also, on this PC, I do not need to install any driver. It comes with that W7. Me In the list here, I can see lots of 8192 devices, but no 8192EU. Me I saw the correct driver in the link I posted, so you should be able to find it too if you just scroll down The OP claims the identifier is 8192EU. I don't see that one listed. And the response I'm getting from search engines, suggests at some point RealTek may have used a NoRobots, so that newer information is not getting indexed. As a result, I can't find any references to 8192EU. If you hit your search engine, you can find *Linux* references to that identifier. As for the hardware itself, some of those stuff uses two identifiers. The chip itself (MAC/LLC Media Access Controller, Logical Link Layer) may have its own number. When a "design" is put together (requiring radio chips or not, having different numbers of antennas or not), they can use a second number to describe the entire design. Some of the chips even come with multiple hardware interfaces, so the same chip does the PCI Express version as well as a USB version. I downloaded one file from a "driver site" and it had absolutely nothing to do with 9182EU. This sorta crap makes me really angry. I had to take that over and install it in Ubuntu using WINE, to get the uninstaller unpacked, to find it was the equivalent of a Wireless Zero Config type of package. After 150MB of false leads on the Windows side, I threw in the towel. Paul |

The OP claims the chipset is 8192EU, whereas since it is sold on Ebay, I suspect 8192CU Edimax clone type dongle (the one that is popular with Raspberry PI users). As long as the OP continues to claim the device is 8192EU, we'll have to look a little harder for a driver. I can find references to 8192EU in Linux articles, but so far, not for Windows. The "driver sites" list something, but it turned out to be a wireless manager and not a driver. Paul |

Shotgun approach: install ALL the 8192 drivers and possibly the related
inf's from the other computer since the device works in that machine. |
