How to swap OK and Cancel in dialog boxes?

Sure. And that will slow you down =E2=80=94 if only a little.

Years ago was a part of a UI study where we compared the Delete / Cancel
style buttons vs. the Yes / No style. The more descriptive buttons led to
FAR fewer errors (can=E2=80=99t recall the exact numbers but nearly zero
vs. far
more). I suspect placement has a similar impact.

I would go further and put a little warning graphic on something that can
cause problems, like deleting or not saving.

They have that on the dialog but generally not the buttons.

Also, car pedals stay there (at least as long as you have the same car),
but dialog box buttons have no existence in between times, and are
created for EACH of those dialog boxes. There's no guarantee they will
be created the same way each time.

I saw what appeared to the that on videos of users -- we would see their faces
and the screens. They would click on something and you could see on their face
the "OH NO!" look, actually a bit BEFORE they clicked. They recognized what
they were doing but could not stop it in time.

it's never fun to be on the other side of a cutoff, but nothing lasts
forever. 8 years is a very long time in technology.

that said, there are unsupported hacks.
