Unable to load games -NFS III
I am running XP-Pro (SP-1)on PIV 1.6 256 Ram.Of late ,after a reinstall of
OS and SP-1,my kids tell me they are unable to install games like NFS-III Age of Mythology etc. blessing in disguise? It seems that previously all was well and these games and morewere installed without difficulty. On trying to install, the following message appears quote C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT.The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.Choose 'Close'to terminate the application.unquote I have The following progs all updated and periodically run on my system 1) Zone Alarm free 2)NAV-2003 3)Adaware SE 4)Spybot S&D 5)Spywareblaster 6)A-squared free 7)CCleaner 8)CWShredder. Recently suffered a Trojan attack courtesy two teenaged kids when apart from these had to resort to cleaning with Trend Sysclean package in safe mode and had to do some deleting.Wonder if I had managed to bungle up something then. Would somebody please help. TIA. -- drjayceeATgmailDOTcom |

I hate to say it but man you have way to many Spyware programs on your
computer if you have to many they can start to uninstall each other and/or system files you only need to very very good programs Spybot-Search and Destroy and AVG 7.0 Free Edition I have used those programs for about 3 years now no problems!!! oh yeah as for your computer saying it is unable to run "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT.The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.Choose 'Close'to terminate the application." one thing get more ram 256 is at bare minimum also if you did a non destructive restore it will restore windows system files and not wipe your whole hard drive!!! Just plain and simple copied autoexec.nt from windows.repair to system.32 and all was well. I guess I had managed to delete it from tge sys32 folder. -- drjayceeATgmailDOTcom |
